Tetracyclines are a group of broad spectrum antibiotics widely used in aquaculture, specifically oxytetracycline. They inhibit protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit thus preventing mRNA translation. Their activity is mainly bacteriostatic against a broad spectrum of bacteria.

Aquacen Oxytetracycline 100% is an authorised by the Νational Organization for Medicines for the Greek market, antibiotic for fish. It is a premix of oxytetracycline which is made for salmonids, sea bass, sea bream, briss, eel and carp. Ιndicated for the cure of infection caused by Lactococcus garvieae, Aeromonas hydrophila and Listonella anguillarum (01) sensible to oxytetracycline. Withdrawal period is 300 degree days.
